Reviews

scrapsoflife : This story has a lot of potetial, it's along the lines of something I would expect to hear on Psuedopod: with a bit of work. There are various subject/verb/number disagreements sprinkled about, lots of comma splices, and some tense issues, but those are fairly easy edits. What I'd truly love to see is more showing of emotions, body language, etc. instead of the telling that I'm getting now. This would also draw out the pacing of the story a bit, building the suspense, letting the reader get more of a feel for what is going on instead of just being told boom-boom-boom what happened. Let the reader do some of the work, but give him or her a good lead-in. Also, there's seems to be an abundance of 'almosts': he was almost shouting, he almost seemed, he was beginning to feel like, he was almost beginning to go along with: let your characters own their actions and emotions. If the character is not committed to the shout or the disbelief behind it, the reader will be similarly reticent. (28-Mar-07)
